This 6-week course is perfect for beginners as well as those with some printmaking experience who want to build their skills. Using rubber blocks, you’ll explore the process of creating expressive black-and-white prints through clear, guided instruction.

You’ll learn (or refresh) the fundamentals—tools and materials, carving techniques, and the steps for inking and printing your block. Students will create multiple prints throughout the course, with opportunities to experiment, refine techniques, and learn how to document and organize a print edition.

Rubber block printing offers endless creative possibilities, whether you’re designing patterns, artwork, or handmade gifts. The blocks can be reused again and again, allowing you to develop a series or expand on your ideas.

Provided Materials:

• Rubber blocks

• Carving tools

• Printing paper

Optional Items to Bring:

• Snacks and drinks

• Specialty paper to explore different effects

• Personal carving tools, if you prefer to use your own

Join us for a hands-on, supportive class that welcomes beginners and encourages intermediate students to grow their printmaking practice!
